Atwater has become a community influenced by the roots of local agriculture, Highway 99, and the former Castle Air Force Base. Each has influenced the community and remains important fixtures. The City of Atwater is a progressive community when it comes to assisting and cultivating business. The City's growing residential development is spurring commercial investment, construction, and services. Additionally the City has an established history of food processing, farming, and light manufacturing companies.

Police records counter is now open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM for citizens to conduct business. Emergency services will continue to be provided 24 hours per day. Finance Counter/Window is now open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
New Utility Bill Rates:
Water rates increased by 40% effective February 1, 2013. The next water rate increase, a 15% increase, will be effective February 1, 2014. To view an example rate change please click here.

Atwater Police urge everyone to buckle up, during the "Click It or Ticket" campaign Officers will be looking for motorists who are not belted. The national "Click It or Ticket" campaign runs May 20 through June 2.
