Back flow devices are required by City ordinance on all commercial buildings, industrial building, institutional buildings, and other appropriate facilities as determined by the uniform plumbing code and or local ordinances. Before a new business license can be issued a back flow device and water meter must be installed and certified by a licensed plumbing contractor. Buildings and spaces with them in place must have them re-certified. Building and Encroachment permits may be required for installation of these devices. Permit fees will be based on the value of the work being completed.
